This week we begin with Sleep No More with an episode from March 13, 1957 titled, The Escape Of Mr. Trimm. Then it’s Discovered On A Camel from Believe It Or Not.
Suspense Replay continues this time with A Killing In Abilene. That episode aired February 3, 1955.
I wish the Relic Radio shows had more programs that don’t fit in the formats of the other programs, such as variety, drama, etc. I’d prefer if every one of these did not have Suspense shows – I know it’s a great radio program, but if you’re going to include Suspense every week, why not have a separate podcast for Suspense, freeing up the Relic Radio podcasts to showcase many other OTR shows, including hour long programs, such as Town Hall Tonight (Fred Allen), Lux Radio Theater, or even The Big Show with Tullulah Bankhead.
There has never been much of a demand for variety shows, so I don’t play them often. And since they tend to be comedy-centric, they would easily fit into the Legacy Of Laughs podcast. I’ll make a note to try a few more there.
Suspense had its own podcast. It was included in the Relic Radio Show to save time – something I only have so much of for this stuff. I have been considering cutting the Suspense episodes down to every other week to change things up a bit though.
Thanks for finding this and playing this! HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!
You’re welcome, Angela. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving as well!
Thanks! I agree, many of the variety shows are often comedic – Fred Allen, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, etc.
