On this episode we’ll one of a handful of appearances Orson Welles made on Suspense. This one, based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost Special, first aired September 30, 1943.
Our strange tale comes from The Creaking Door this week. This series took to the air in the mid-1960’s in South Africa. We’ll hear Midnight Express, their episode from January 25, 1965.
Old Nancy brings us another story from The Witch’s Tale this time. We’ll hear The Statue Of Thor, which first aired April 22, 1937. Part of the end of the recording has been cut short, but the story is completely intact.
I had a request for something really scary from the CBS Radio Mystery Theater and I hope this one might come close (really scary is hard to do with these shows!). Here is Stay Out Of Dutchman’s Woods.
Another hour of old time radio crime begins this week with The Adventures Of Philip Marlowe. We’ll hear The Dude From Manhattan, which first aired July 2, 1949. Next up is Five Minute Mystery and The Zombie. Broadway Is My Beat closes this show with The John Lomax Murder Case. That one was first broadcast December 31, 1949.
