Kind of a special show today. Jon requested any headless horseman stories I was able to find, and as luck would have it there are a couple. First, from CBS Radio Mystery Theater is The Headless Hessian, which first aired September 23, 1975. Then it’s Favorite Story with The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow from May 29, 1948.
It’s another horror favorite today, this time coming from Diane who wanted to hear Cat’s Cradle by the Price Of Fear. Come back Saturday for another fine episode of The Hall Of Fantasy.
Airing from 1943 to 1947, The Weird Circle adapted classic horror stories for radio from notable authors of the genre. Our episode today features their version of Elizabeth Gaskell’s The Old Nurse’s Story, and aired in 1944.
Toby wrote in asking about Three Skeleton Key from Escape and I figured it was about time we heard it again. This version, the first, does not star Vincent Price. It aired November 15, 1949.
This week old Nancy brings us another offering from The Witch’s Tale. We’ll hear The Flying Dutchman, a story first aired February 1, 1932, then again in April of 1934.
“J” wrote in looking for a good ghost story, and I hope this one fits the bill. We’ll hear Lanceford House from Beyond Midnight (previously known as The Green Vase). This episode first aired January 24, 1969.
We heard from Vincent Price and Peter Cushing last week, so how about a little Peter Lorre for today’s show? From Mystery In The Air, we’ll hear Mask Of Medusa which first aired September 4, 1947.
We hear from the Price Of Fear on today’s episode of The Horror. This episode, The Man Who Hated Scenes, stars Vincent Price and Peter Cushing. It aired sometime in the early 1970’s.
