Our horror favorite this week is Murder Castle from Lights Out. This episode first aired August 3, 1943 and is loosely based on serial killer H.H. Holmes. Thanks for your submission Stephanie!
You are correct, Stephanie, it’s a good one. And I must say for Mr O, he’s right about the weird corners of the minds of humans. Now was he forgetting that he wrote this? Talk about weird corners of minds! Delightful, especially delightful to hear the old guy suffer for his breath as his victims. If only that justice could really be. Perhaps that is not a humane thought, but then Mr O’s stories lack a certain, shall we say, humanity . . . .
I’ve just listened to this show. It is, hands down, one of the best horror old time radio show I’ve ever listened to. Unlike many OTR horror shows, which verge on camp or cliche, this is truly nasty. This may be because the story is based on a real serial killer, and it’s played realistically. A must-listen for all OTR horror fans.
